Shane Mailey is the Vice-President of Operations and the Corporate Chief Engineer at Manitoba Hydro. Responsible for the executive oversight of operating and maintaining the generation, transmission and distribution assets, including the natural gas distribution system. His experience includes; design, construction, contract administration, capital projects management, maintenance, implementing ongoing business efficiencies, participating on corporate initiatives, engagement with external stakeholders and operations of the business. Shane is an active member on the Friends of Engineering Board and earned the designation of Fellow, from Engineers Canada. Shane received his B.Sc in Civil Engineering from the University of Manitoba. Shane is an active member on the Engineering Changes Lives Provincial Steering Committee and the Manitoba 2030 Coalition, he was also chosen as the Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba Leadership Award Winner for 2019.
Manitoba Hydro has significant engineering expertise in the areas of generation, transmission and distribution of electricity, and the distribution of natural gas. Expertise would include civil, electrical and mechanical engineering for planning, designing, constructing, operating, maintaining, project managing and contract administration of our activities and oversight of the infrastructure. Manitoba Hydro also has extensive experience with regulations, compliance and licensing, including societal and environmental aspects.
